Times are tough. People are losing their homes to foreclosure and companies are cutting back, causing hundreds of folks to lose their jobs. That means more families utilizing social services and more women and children coming through our doors. That’s why more than ever, your giving is vital to what we do at The Shade Tree. We receive fully 50% of operational money from private donors with the other 50% through Governmental support. Only through the generosity of so many in Southern Nevada has The Shade Tree built a legacy of success.
Every little bit helps when it comes to helping our women, children, and pets but would you believe that a donation of $236 provides 24 hour shelter and all basic needs to a woman and child for a week? Here’s how far $1,000 can go at The Shade Tree:
-1,740 pounds of dog food
-64 canisters of baby formula
-167 pairs of pajamas
-250 bottles of shampoo
-30 cases of hand soap
-41 cases of toilet paper

Many companies encourage giving by offering a matching gift program or the opportunity to give through workplace campaigns. Ask your Human Resources Department what opportunities are available.
Donate that Vehicle to C.A.R.S!
If that clunker in the driveway isn’t worth fixing up, don’t trade it in or sell it; donate it to help our women, children, and pets! We’re partnering with Charitable Auto Resources, Inc. or C.A.R.S., to help you turn that unreliable vehicle into a donation for The Shade Tree. Here’s how it works: A C.A.R.S. vehicle donation processing agent takes your information over the telephone, and handles all of the documents, vehicle donation pick up, and sale with no expense to you the donor! Whatever the year, make, model, or condition; your vehicle donation will help keep our residents safe from abuse.

Donor Privacy Policy: The Shade Tree does not sell, trade, or share a donor's personal infromation with any other organization or individual not affiliated with The Shade Tree, or send out mass mailings on behalf of other organizations. The Shade Tree only shares personal information once the donor has given charity specific permission to do so.
